Station Cook – Alexandria Station

The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCO) is a leader in Australia’s cattle industry, with stations in Queensland and the Northern Territory along with a feedlot on the Darling Downs.We are now seeking a full time Station Cook to join the NAPCO team at the Alexandria Station. Alexandria is located in the Barkly region of in the Northern Territory. This area is the heart of northern Australia’s Mitchell Grass lands with rolling plains interspersed with red gravelly ridges, Bluebush swamps and the heads of the Gregory and Georgina River systems. Alexandria is NAPCO’s largest and oldest property, acquired in 1877. The property operates over three sites; the main station and two outstations, Gallipoli and Soudan. Alexandria’s 54 000-head breeder herd produces cattle that NAPCO directs to its Channel Country and Central Queensland properties and Wainui Feedlot. About 36 000 calves are branded and 32 000 head are turned off the station each year. Alexandria is also one of the locations for NAPCo’s stud herd of signature composite cattle.To be successful you will have a minimum of one year's experience in a similar role, supplying healthy and nutritious meals to groups of people whilst following regulated health and hygiene rules. This role may require irregular work patterns as most stations offer three meal periods.This position will suit someone looking for job security and a long-term career.Please note this role is suitable for Australian Residents only.
